What is the American Board of Oriental Medicine (ABORM)

     Acupuncture has a rich history of specialities.  In the area of reproductive medicine, there are texts such as Fu Qing Zhu’s Gynecology that imply specialization in the early Qing Dynasty (1641-1911).  In the modern world the area of reproductive medicine continues to change drastically.  With advancements in Artificial Reproductive Therapies (ART), it is imperative that qualified acupuncturist stay well informed and education on these advancements.  To be able to demonstrate not only proficiency in the area of acupuncture and herbal medicine; but also modern medicine.  

     Those Acupuncturist that choose voluntary examination must meet a 45 hour prerequisite.  Upon successful completion those will be awarded Fellow Member of the American Board of Oriental Medicine.
